Beloved Sci-Fi Creator Octavia Butler’s Gravesite Survived Los Angeles Hearth

In Parable of the Sower, a fire-ravaged California endures a climate change future that is now reality. Within the 1993 speculative fiction basic, American science-fiction author Octavia E. Butler, who lived in close by Altadena, predicted the catastrophic Los Angeles fires.

The Afrofuturist’s grave rests in Altadena, which was hit arduous amid the current fires that left hundreds of Californians with out their properties. Octavia’s Bookshelf, a Pasadena bookstore named for the inspiring writer, is an exercise hub that’s working tirelessly to help Butler’s beloved Los Angeles enclave.
